Hello! It’s been a while since we checked in last, so we’re delighted to share our new video and some positivity at this strange time. The global coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has turned life on its head but here at La Dona Fruit we have remained resolute throughout.

Our founder Edna Vergara certainly knows a thing or two about patience and resilience. And in our new video she shares more than a few words of wisdom. After 50 years in the business, Edna continues to see the positive in any situation. She turns negatives into opportunities. Her leadership and motivation is truly inspirational!

Watch the video for yourself here:

Even in the face of a pandemic, Edna has continued to work every day in the pineapple fields at our farm in La Chorrera, Panama. Despite being in her seventies, and among the high-risk group for this novel coronavirus, her unwavering positive mental attitude has motivated a team of over 70 workers to ensure healthy fruits remain on the tables of consumers worldwide.

In our day-to-day lives, people seldom think about the origin of their food, or the incredible people who keep the wheels of supply turning. We hope this video demonstrates the significance of agricultural food production. And the commitment of our wonderful workers, even in the most trying of times.

No matter the situation, Edna knows there is a solution. And that is precisely our ethos here at La Dona. We are proud to have continued growing and exporting nutritious, fresh fruits throughout this pandemic. More than ever, we understand the importance of our role within the global food supply chain. And the need to support our local communities on the ground in Panama, Colombia and Peru.

Thanks for watching our video! Share it among friends and family to spread some cheer while you continue to stay safe.

In the meantime, we’re busy as ever at La Dona. Stay tuned for more exciting updates in the coming weeks! Hasta luego!
