Klaus is certainly one of the more interesting characters to join our family at La Dona Fruit. Born in Germany, Klaus has spent significant amounts of time in exotic places like Latvia and Thailand, where he accumulated over 15 years of experience in the fresh produce industry. Working primarily with mushrooms and fresh herbs, Klaus mastered skills that make him an excellent addition to our team.
Klaus’s long career in sales has taken him to many places, but there was one above all that he fell in love with – Thailand. At the top of many a traveller’s list of preferred destinations, Thailand’s tropical climate and exotic culture were so inviting for Klaus that he spent the better part of 8 years living and working there.
While in Thailand, Klaus began practicing a hobby that makes him particularly suited to our line of work – gardening. Although he tries to stay humble, Klaus’s gardening operation has grown to an impressive size, featuring such exotic fruits as papaya, jackfruit, passionfruit, and, of course, pineapple. A lover of fresh fruit, Klaus is excited for the opportunity to bring high-quality La Dona products to the regions that he serves. After all, he says, nothing allows one to mentally escape the frigid German winters like some nice, fresh pineapple.
